What the sites provide

Land & Legacy is a heritage property discovery platform. It brings together information about historic properties across the UK to help people find and visit them.

Hidden Britain is a weekly newsletter published by Land & Legacy covering heritage properties and places of historic interest across the UK.

Both sites are intended for personal, non-commercial use.

Accuracy of information

We take care to present accurate information about properties, their locations, opening arrangements, and access conditions. Heritage properties change, though. Opening hours, admission charges, access restrictions, and operational status can all change without notice.

Before visiting any property, check directly with the operating organisation. Land & Legacy accepts no liability for loss or inconvenience arising from reliance on information published on the sites.

We link to the official websites of heritage organisations including the National Trust, English Heritage, Cadw, Historic Environment Scotland, the National Trust for Scotland, the Churches Conservation Trust, Historic Royal Palaces, and Historic Houses. Those organisations are responsible for the accuracy of their own published information.

Intellectual property

The editorial content of Hidden Britain, including written descriptions, selection of properties, and illustrations produced for the newsletter and platform, is the intellectual property of Land & Legacy. All rights reserved.

Property images sourced from Wikimedia Commons are used under their respective open licences (Creative Commons Attribution or equivalent). Attribution is provided in accordance with licence terms. Images credited as artistic impressions are produced by Land & Legacy and are not representations of the physical appearance of any property.

Heritage property names, logos, and brand assets belong to their respective owning organisations. Use of those names on these sites is descriptive and editorial, not an assertion of affiliation or endorsement.

Third-party links

The sites link to third-party websites including heritage organisation sites, ticketing platforms, and mapping services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Links do not constitute endorsement beyond the editorial context in which they appear.

Acceptable use

You may not use the sites to:

• Scrape, copy, or redistribute content in bulk without permission
• Misrepresent your affiliation with Land & Legacy or any heritage organisation
• Attempt to interfere with the operation of the sites
