Croome Court, near Croome D'Abitot in Worcestershire, was Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's first landscape and architectural commission, undertaken for George Coventry, 6th Earl of Coventry.
The Neo-Palladian mansion stands within parkland that Brown transformed from marshy ground into rolling lawns and lakes.
Robert Adam later designed several of the interiors.
The National Trust operates the house, which is owned by Croome Heritage Trust, and owns the surrounding parkland, both open to visitors.

George Coventry, 6th Earl of Coventry, commissioned Brown to remodel his family seat from the 1750s, with the mansion largely complete by 1760. Ownership stayed with the Coventry family for generations before eventually passing to the Croome Heritage Trust, which leases the house to the National Trust. St Mary Magdalene's Church, built within the park at the same period, is cared for separately by the Churches Conservation Trust.
Architecture
The mansion is a Neo-Palladian design, counted among Capability Brown's earliest architectural works, with interior rooms added later by Robert Adam.
