History

The house was rebuilt in 1802 in the classical style and has remained in private hands as a working estate since.

Built in 1802, the mansion is Grade II* listed, with ornate cornicing and finely proportioned rooms. It is thought to have one of the finest staircases of its date in Yorkshire.
